Children exchange.

Not so long ago 6 nice schoolchildren from La Crosse came to Dubna. They were received by 6 host less nice schoolchildren from Dubna, who some time later will go to their nowaday's guests. That is the exchange.
The program Student Exchange is carried out not by Federal Services of the USA but by usual parents from La Crosse. Parents from Dubna helped them. The leaders of the program are Bil Trussoni from America and Eugene Ososcov from Dubna's club "Optimist".

Dream of Russia.

Bill is in Dubna for the 7th time. Each time he brings 6 children who were lucky enough to go through the selection exam. It appeared that many people would like to come to Russia as exchange students, that is why the selection exam consists of some rounds. First of all, it's necessary to write an essay "Why I have decided to visit Russia". It's necessary to write it in such a way that all the members of the commission could believe that it is really very important for you to go to Russia. There are some questions to be answered too. It is not enough to be among the chosen six, but to earn money to buy the tickets not only for yourself but for each of the six children from Dubna, who will go to La Crosse. "Its different from your country. We are used to earning money from childhood, " - Bill gave his comments.

During his visits he managed to learn the Russian soul. He said, he liked Russians, especially our friendliness and open-heartedness. And what surprises him it is our slovenliness. Bill was surprised how dirty our beaches were. He said that it was impossible to see something like that in America. Maybe because of that too the American delegation is planning to clean some places of rest. There is such a nice tradition of the exchange program - to leave a kind memory not only in the host families but in a host city too.

To live in a family is one of the conditions of the project. What is the best place to learn the national character of different people if not a family? And each of the six guests said that it was communication and acquaintance with people what they had come for.

I would like to learn the Russian language.

Brandon Lovejoy is a 10-grade student. He likes studying Russian as well as everything connected with Russia. That is why he wrote an excellent essay, which opened him a way to Russia. To a newsman's question, if he would like to be a journalist, he answered he would like to try but when he became an adult he saw himself working in selling on computer. Young Rachel Favorite on the contrary doesn't think about her future profession. She likes studying at school and communicating with different people and also reading detectives and playing basketball. She has two younger sisters and two cats. "Why two cats?" - asked the newsman. Rachel answered in a wise way that without friends life was bad. Zack Kirscher finished 12 classes and is going to enter college. His three elder brothers are military men. Two of them serve in air force, the other - in a military waterside guard. But Zack doesnt dream about it, but he is interested in politics science and history. Last year he began to study Russian language and he is glad, that his dream to see Russia became true. After he is planning to visit Germany - the native land of his ancestors.

Coca-Cola and karaoke.

First of all everyone likes sports, next goes muting friends. To the question if anyone in La Crosse drinks alcohol or smokes they answered that such things were strictly prohibited for those who under 21. Maybe that is why it was so interesting for Americans to spend time in one of Dubna's cafes. But insisted of tea they had their favorite drink Coca-Cola. Both Americans and Russians like singing. Masha, Rita, Alina and Vita were dealing with English texts without any problems, and American girls did well with Russian texts. While girls were singing, Yuri was playing pool with American friends and Misha was reporting that he always wanted to see the life style of people with such high living conditions. He has got a lot in common with his new friend, that is why it is not boring to spend time together, by the way the main demand of the program to Russians is good knowledge of the English language.

It is always better to give...

Bill Trussoni told the correspondent how the children washed cars, helped at shops to earn money, how their parents looked for sponsors. Since November the exchange program participants had been living only with thoughts of organizing the trip to Russia and waiting for it. "When years pass you begin to understand that it is much more pleasant to give than you get. When a person shares with others he is happy", says Bill Trussoni. "I enjoy organizing these trips. Besides, I learn a lot of new things learn life from other people. It is great".

Wisconsin is an agricultural state. The people of the state are kindhearted and good-looking. Maybe? because of...cheese. It is not by chance, that Americans named this state Cheese Head; the best American cheese is made there.
